Cologne has a huge history. The settlement started ain 50 AD. At this time Cologne was an important military base. Later the city was a leading member in the "Hanse". This was a trading community which has a huge influence in the middle ages. Today Cologne is well-known for its famous beer which is called "Kölsch" and as a stronghold of the carnival in the Rhineland.
Cologne contains many attractions like Cologne Cathedral, the Roman-Germanic Museum, the Fragrance-Museum Farina House (the birthplace of Eau de Koln), the Cologne Arenaand the Chocolate museum.
